Remember what it was like as a kid, getting all new stuff for the first day of school? How about the excitement of having bright, unbroken crayons; pencils to sharpen; and the fun backpacks? Children in the Capitol Heights community deserve to feel the same excitement about school. They need your help.
Join Gethsemane United Methodist Church to help make things happen in our community—like going the extra mile at work, at home by helping kids who need school supplies but can’t afford them. Last year, with your support we were able to collect enough supplies to distribute more than 200 book-bags to local students AND deliver additional supplies to Walker Mill Middle, Capitol Heights Elementary, and Central High School.
This year, we’re hoping to double our efforts and distribute school supplies to more people in our community and partnering schools. School supplies can be dropped-off in the Lobby of Gethsemane United Methodist Church (910 Addison Road South, Capitol Heights, MD 20743) on or before Tuesday, August 7.
